Hearty White Chili will heat up your party and warm your soul
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies - like a warm Reeces Cup, but not as messy

January 2012: Start the New Year off with a veggie that's as beautiful as it is good for you!
Sassy Herbed Carrots - I use whatever herbs happen to be in season out next to the patio
Gooey Finger Lickin' Carrot Cake is one of our favorite ways to get our vegetables!

December 2011: Yummy treats for your Christmas celebrations!
Broccoli Ramen Salad from our buddies at the Big Red Kitchen
Michelle craves these yummy little Date Balls for a whole year before I will make them at Christmas!

November 2011: It's cranberry time!
What's Thanksgiving without Cranberry Salad? Plus - nurture your soul with Cranberry Coffee Cake

October 2011: Comforting sweets handed down for generations
Puddin' and Sash: a family recipe at least 100 years old that I predict it will be around for another century
Chocolate Fudge Sauce: Scroll down to the bottom of the link page to find another "sash" to offer your guests with their cake!

September 2011: Vegetarian that actually tastes good!
Even the Bobfather, a huge carnivore, loves this Vegetarian Black Bean Soup

Vegetarian Spahetti resulted from a collaboration between Mom and baby sis Stacie.

August 2011: Plan a light summer supper with noshes that keep you out of the kitchen and reaching for these big bites of flavor.
Slow-Roasted Bruschetta: Make this a day ahead so you won't have to turn on the oven at dinnertime.

Authentic Guacamole: What can I say? This is the best I've ever had, even if I do say so myself!

July 2011: Let your taste buds join in the celebration!
Barbecued Cranberry Chicken: Want to start the fireworks in your mouth? This tangy/sweet chicken will make your taste buds sing!

Red, White, and Blue(berry) Dessert: Get creative arranging fruit on top of this creamy filling over a butter cookie-style crust. Not exactly lo-cal, but one of my favorites!

June 2011: Recipes from the Pioneer Woman (link here for my tasting notes) Links to the actual recipes on the PW's site are:
Spinach with Garlic Chips

April-May
2011: The color for this month is YELLOW
Pepper-Jack Squash Casserole: Kick it up a notch with pepper-jack cheese - mmmmmmmmmmm
Lemon Love Notes: It's a yummy, sweet-tart bar on top of a butter-cookie crust

March 2011: Appeal to your inner Cookie Monster!
Toasted Coconut-Oatmeal Cookies: Amazing what a bit of toasting in the oven does to a pan of oats and coconut!
Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Cookies: Hmmmm....do I like the dough better than the cookies, or should I just under-bake a pan and have the best of both worlds???

February
2011: Game Day Dips - score with -
Buffalo Chicken Dip - courtesy of my sweet Buffalo-native daughter-in-law (DIL)
Artichoke Dip - you won't believe how good this simple dish is!

January
2011: My Gran-gran's secret -
Gran-gran's Chicken and Dumplings: Are you a Chicken and Dumplings lover? If so, we hope you'll try this super-fast way of "making" dumplings with my Gran-gran's "secret ingredient" and let us know what you think!

December
2010: My gift to readers is a couple of rarely-shared recipes -
"No-Chex" Snack Mix: This is the real deal - no chex in here. Give it a try and give me your opinion - but promise you won't ever refer to it as Chex mix.
Mom's Cheesecake with Strawberry Sauce: Mom's cheesecake is one she had to replicate for Dad after their first trip to New York in the 1970s, where they had their first cheesecake ever at Wolfie's Deli (sadly, no longer in existence). The strawberry sauce is Mom’s own creation and the perfect cheesecake mate!

November 2010: Serve this dish and you, too, can be the cranberry hero at your table!
''Even-If-You-Don't-Like'' Cranberries Casserole: This dish bubbles proudly next to the juicy deep-fried turkey at our Thanksgiving table each year (by popular request).
October 2010: This dish is best served with potato salad, BBQ, and a bottle of Beano tablets.
Secret Ingredient Baked Beans: This all-time favorite is the result of "secrets" from several family members

September
2010: My all-time most requested recipe
Buttermilk Chocolate Cake: This was the best part of a family camping trip in the early 70's.
